Amie Edwards

Amie L. Edwards is the National Credit Executive for Custom Underwriting for Wholesale Credit Global Wealth & Investment Management team. In her current role she is responsible for managing a team of over 130 underwriters supporting credit delivery for both the Private Bank and Merrill Lynch high-net-worth clients.

Amie joined the bank in the middle market M&A group in 1998. The following year, she moved to the Healthcare Credit Products team and went through Credit Analyst training.  She spent 14 years with the Healthcare Credit Products team and in 2013 as an SVP, joined the Commercial Bank Risk organization as a Credit Risk Manager for Specialized Industries.  In this role, she had responsibilities for Not for Profit Healthcare, Higher Education and Social Service organizations covering the NE and SE markets.  In 2015, she was promoted to Credit Risk Executive and covered the For Profit Healthcare Industry for the Commercial Bank.  Later that year, she became the Industry Lead for the GCIB Healthcare Wholesale Credit team. In this role, she led a team responsible for the credit delivery process including, credit underwriting, monitoring and product management for the banks global corporate Healthcare clients. In 2019 she moved in the Wholesale Credit Strategy team as a Portfolio Executive for the Origination and Underwriting process.  In this role, she focused on driving Operational Excellence horizontally across Wholesale Credits 8 Lines of Business. 

Amie earned her B.S. in Finance at Virginia Tech. She has a double major in Management and Minors in both International Business and International Studies. She maintains her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. She is an active member of Charlotte LEAD for Women, Power of 10, Rising Leader Program, GBAM Women’s Leadership Council.  She is actively engaged in driving diversity across our organization and has been an a member of Wholesale Credit D&I Council since its inception where she currently is Co-Lead for the Attract Diverse Talent group.  Amie is the Executive Sponsor for Wholesale Credits campus recruiting efforts at her alma mater, Virginia Tech.  She enjoys participating in various community service and volunteer activities sponsored by the bank.

Outside of work Amie resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband and 3 children. She actively supports Trinity Episcopal School, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and coaches youth soccer in her community.  In her free time she can be found on the lake spending time with her family, surfing, biking, running and paddle boarding.
