Kelly Pickerel

Ms. Pickerel, a 35+ year veteran of banking, is part of the Wells Fargo Liquidity Advisory Team overseeing deposit and liquidity strategies by setting and implementing customized strategies for government and institutional clients including public entities, not for profit healthcare, higher education, non-profit entities and other specialized industries.  Her role requires interface with relationship managers, treasury services partners, asset management partners, executive management and corporate treasury and finance, providing a consultative partnership for the East Coast and other teams across the U.S. 

Her tenure in banking began with the Corporate Trust Division of SunTrust Bank (formerly United Virginia Bank and Crestar) followed by work as a Senior Relationship Manager and the Business Development Officer for the Corporate Trust Division of Wells Fargo (formerly First Union Bank and Wachovia) covering VA/DC/MD and WVA.  From there she joined the Institutional Asset Management team of Evergreen Investments/Wells Fargo Asset Management, earning her Series 7, 6 and 63 licenses focused on money market and short duration mutual funds, switching over to Wells Fargo’s Commercial/Government Banking team in 2010 focused on liquidity and investment strategies for the East coast.

In addition to her tenure in banking, she has maintained active involvement in professional and civic organizations including the Board of Directors for the Greater Richmond YWCA, the YMCA, and Greater Richmond Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN), and currently serves on the Advisory Board for SCAN, the VA Government Finance Officers Association, the National Association for Financial Professionals, Wells Fargo Govt & Institutional Banking Diversity and Inclusion Council, and currently the VA Women in Public Finance Association.  She is particularly proud of her time spent with VA Tech’s Women’s Leadership and Philanthropy Council (the “WLP”) where she participated in philanthropic and mentoring efforts on behalf of the University, leading her to become an avid supporter of Pamplin alumni and the Collegiate Women in Business events.  Currently she serves on the leadership panel of the Pamplin Society overseeing Special Projects, specifically the creation of the Pamplin Alumni Awards designed to promote and celebrate alumni engagement with Pamplin.

When not working, she spends time with friends and family, enjoys gardening, is trying to be an avid golfer, and loves to travel.
