Mark’s career has spanned 35 years, the vast majority of which centered on commercial banking activities in the Greater DC region. Areas of expertise include Commercial Banking, Government Contracting, Investment Banking featuring sell-side/buy-side/capital formation transactions, non-bank financings such as ABL/Leasing/Commercial Finance, and Private Equity investing.

Mark most recently served as Regional President of Atlantic Union Bank’s Greater Washington-Baltimore region, serving in a key leadership role throughout the successful merger and integration of Access National Bank where he was its President and a member of the Board of Directors. During his career Mark has held most conventional roles and responsibilities one might encounter in the commercial banking and credit risk management areas of the industry.  Other commercial banking experiences included various roles at John Marshall Bank, M&T Bank, United Bank, George Mason Bank, and First American Bank of Virginia. 

Mark also enjoyed experiences in Investment Banking, including Principal roles at The McLean Group and Longstreet Capital Partners – both located in the Greater DC marketplace. Primary activities centered on sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory services, capital formation assignments, and private equity investments. Mark was a registered holder of the Series 24, 7 and 63 licenses during this period of his career and served as a Principal Owner and as NASD-Registered Supervisor/Representative in these firms.

Throughout his career, Mark has served in a variety of leadership roles at prominent business organizations including the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce (Past Chairman and continuing Board member), the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum “SECAF” (Past Chairman, Co-Founder, continuing Board member), and the Business Alliance of GMU (Past Chairman and Chair of its Grubstakes Breakfast Angel Investment Program). 

A proud native from Pittsburgh, PA and residing in Northern Virginia since 1985, Mark has 3 adult children including his son Matthew Moore (VT Finance 2014), is blessed with 2 grandsons, and has been married to his Hokie Sweetheart since their graduation in 1985 – Julie Yozzo Moore (VT Finance, 1985).
