Michael Kosciusko
Michael Kosciusko is retired from Bank of America after a 22-year career. He has been with Bank of America/Merrill Lynch since May of 2000 and has primarily focused on coverage of Hedge Funds and Distressed Debt specialists. From June of 2004 to March of 2014, Michael was head of the U.S. sales team for the Global Credit and Special Situations Group. Michael managed a team of 9 salespeople, which at its peak generated well over $180mm annually in sales revenue and was integral in building out the global sales franchise post the Bank of America/Merrill Lynch merger in 2008.
Michael began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co. in the Merger & Acquisition Department, which included a year in the Financial Institutions Group as well as the Media & Entertainment Group. After Morgan Stanley, Michael received his MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA. Upon graduation, from 1994 to joining Bank of America, Michael was a Director of High Yield and Distressed sales at Lazard Freres & Co.
A proud graduate of Virginia Tech and member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Michael graduated in 1987 with a B.S. in Finance. He has been a strong supporter of Virginia Tech and the Pamplin School of Business over the years. That support includes helping to host annual Career Days for Basis and Seed students visiting NYC; participating as a mentor for Va.Tech students as part of the Recruiting program; as well as well as numerous informal conversations with students with respect to placement opportunities and career advice.
A proud native of Southampton, New York, Michael currently resides in Manhasset NY on Long Island with his wife Kathleen and their three daughters. In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing golf, squash, skiing, biking and cooking.
