Biography
Doug Anderson is a retired Air Force colonel. During his 30 year career he was primarily an Acquisition Program Manager, working on acquisition and sustainment of major weapons systems, to include the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, B-1 and B-2 bombers, Airborne Warning and Control System (E-3 AWACS), and HARM and AMRAAM missiles. He was also a Political-Military officer for Sub-Saharan Africa at US European Command. His last year in the military was as the Director of Operations (J3) for the Joint Contracting Command for Iraq and Afghanistan, deployed to Baghdad, Iraq.
During the many moves associated with his military career, Colonel Anderson noted the irony that as a Pamplin alum with a degree in Finance and Insurance, he was wholly unprepared for many of life's major financial events and decisions - and even some basic ones such as personal budgeting. Thus he is excited that the college has for some time been teaching the basics of personal finance and he is now able to assist in that endeavor.
