Biography

Dr. Hood’s research interests focus on the measurement and pricing of credit risk. He has also published research in the area of corporate pension risk. His research has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance and leading practitioner journals.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Dr. Hood served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at Iowa State University. Dr. Hood has previously served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Pamplin College of Business from 2008-2010. Prior to working for Virginia Tech in 2008, Dr. Hood worked for Moody’s KMV in New York, NY developing default risk models.
