John C. Easterwood

Biography

Dr. Easterwood’s research involves corporate finance, fixed income securities, and investments. He has around 20 articles published in various academic and practitioner journals including top quality journals such as Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Finance.

Dr. Easterwood teaches Financial Analytics, Corporate Finance, and Fixed Income Securities. He has taught courses at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels.

Professional Achievements 

Dr. Easterwood has been an Ad hoc Reviewer for many journals. He has been a discussant for the Financial Management Association and the Southern Finance Association. He is a member of the American Finance Association and the Financial Management Association. Dr. Easterwood has participated in numerous presentations at the Financial Management Association, Western Finance Association, and the SFS Cavalcade.

Service Related Contributions 

Dr. Easterwood was acting department head for 2018-19. Dr. Easterwood has chaired the Faculty Search Committee for many years. He has been a member of various committees related to the Department of Finance. Some of the committees he has been actively involved in are Undergraduate Curriculum, Faculty Search, Awards and Scholarships, Summer Grant Review, and Department Head Search. At the college level, he has been a member of the Undergraduate Curriculum, Multicultural Diversity Committee and Scholarships and Awards. Finally, at the university level, he has been a part of various committees and sub committees.
