Brett Gallagher

Brett is a 35-year veteran of the asset management industry having served in numerous roles.  Most recently, he was a co-founder and Head of Research and Acquisition at Nile Capital Group, LLC - a private equity firm based in Los Angeles.  While serving at Nile, Brett also acted as President at Strategic Global Advisors, a woman-owned, systematic, international equity shop based in Newport Beach, California.  Prior to these roles Brett was Deputy CIO and head of Global Equity at Julius Baer Investment Management in New York for 13 years.  He was also Head of Private Client Investment Management for JP Morgan in Singapore during the Asia Crisis and Head of Global Equity at Bankers Trust International Private Bank before that.  Brett's responsibilities have included the development of asset management and research processes, global asset allocation strategies and economic analysis.  

Brett began his career as an analyst with Irwin Management Company in Columbus, IN where he was responsible for the selection and evaluation of external asset managers and for financial oversight of Venture Capital investments.  He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg and Fox Business News, has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, and was a guest lecturer at Yale University.  Brett received his BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and his MBA from The Darden Graduate School of Business.  Brett also served on the University of Virginia Alumni Association Board of Managers from 2018 through 2024, including as their Investment Committee Chairperson (2021 - 24)
