Giorgo Sertsios is an Associate Professor of Finance at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. His research interests lie at the intersection of corporate finance, industrial organization, organizational economics, and healthcare finance. His research examines how firms’ financial decisions interact with product-market strategies and organizational structure.

His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, among others.

Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Professor Sertsios was the Sheldon B. Lubar Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s Lubar College of Business. He previously held faculty positions at Universidad de los Andes in Chile and the University of Houston. He has taught corporate finance and empirical research methods at the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. levels.
